It is run by Sophie Prociuk, who has groomed since 2014 and brings a Zoology degree, pet grooming and animal nutrition qualifications, and a competitive grooming background that includes Best in Show placings at Royal Shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
The salon's approach pairs styling with wellness. Every dog receives an aromatherapy spa bath and a massage using an anxiety-reducing essential oil blend, finished with a hand blow dry, ear clean, nail trim and a spritz of perfume. Products are hand-picked for both the look they give and how relaxed the dog feels. To keep the space calm, The Pup Spa runs by appointment only and limits how many dogs are in at once, which suits dogs that find a busy salon stressful as well as puppies having their first grooms.
