Animal Magic Pet Grooming

Animal Magic Pet Grooming is a Gold Coast dog and cat grooming salon that has been operating since 1998 and bills itself as one of Australia's most awarded salons. It is led by Emily Myatt, an international master groomer, and staffed by a team of qualified pet stylists whose specialities span all breeds, from small and double-coated dogs through to terriers, poodles and large or aggressive dogs.

The salon runs an open-plan space with a large viewing window and air-conditioned grooming areas, and works in morning and afternoon sessions with a text message sent when a pet is ready for collection. Its full menu covers everything from a basic bath and blow-dry to tidy grooms, all-over summer clips, breed-standard and Asian fusion style cuts, hand stripping for wire-coated breeds, and de-shedding for heavy undercoats. Cats are handled in a dedicated, quieter grooming room, groomed mornings only, and the salon is clear that it does not sedate cats.

The approach throughout is welfare-first: the salon states it is opposed to animal cruelty and will not force painful de-matting, referring extremely difficult cases on to a vet instead.
