Doggy Stylz Cairns

Doggy Stylz Cairns is a one-on-one dog grooming salon on Wilks Street in Bungalow, the light-industrial pocket just south of the Cairns CBD. It is run by Rosh, a Fear Free certified groomer who also holds animal first aid and CPR qualifications, and the whole salon is built around the idea that grooming should be calm rather than rushed.

The defining feature here is the fear-free approach. Dogs are seen individually rather than in a busy room of other animals, with a playpen used instead of cages, pheromone diffusers, calming music and reduced outside noise. Rosh watches for the small stress signals dogs give off, such as lip-licking or head-turning, and adjusts handling and positioning to keep the session comfortable, including reward-based techniques and gentler approaches for sensitive jobs like nail trims and sanitary tidies. That makes it a natural fit for anxious dogs, puppies taking their first grooming steps, and senior dogs whose mobility or health needs a softer touch. Nervous dogs can also start with a free meet-and-treat visit to settle in before any grooming happens.

The salon currently focuses on small and medium dogs rather than large breeds.
