About Paws on the Coast

Paws on the Coast is a family-run pet store and grooming room in Umina Beach, opened just before Christmas 2007 by sisters Donna and Jody. Alongside its shelves of food, supplements and accessories, the shop runs a by-appointment grooming service and a self-serve dog wash, making it a one-stop spot for Central Coast pet owners.

The grooming covers the full range of day-to-day coat and care work, from a puppy's first groom through to haircuts, a warm hydrobath, brushing and dematting, ear cleaning, anal gland expressing and nail trimming, for dogs and cats alike. The self-serve dog wash suits owners who would rather bathe their own pet, with extra time available when a coat needs it. Running through everything is a strong rescue-and-rehoming ethos: the sisters built the store on a no-live-animal-sales principle and back local rescues, the RSPCA, Animal Welfare League and pounds.

Grooming runs on appointment only, and the shop asks owners to phone rather than email to book.
