The Cat Stylist

The Cat Stylist is a cat-only grooming salon in Kanwal on the NSW Central Coast, run by Sherie, a Certified Feline Master Groomer and Certified Feline Creative Groomer who is also an approved trainer and certifier for the National Cat Groomers Institute. The salon works exclusively with cats, from short-haired kittens to long-haired breeds that need ongoing coat maintenance.

Grooming is built around the things that make cats uncomfortable rather than around appearances alone, with packages aimed at matting, shedding, hairballs, blockages and sanitary issues. Each appointment is allowed two hours so the work can move at the cat's pace, with breaks as needed, and cats arrive and leave in their own carry crate. Owners who are unsure how their cat will cope can begin with a short nail-trim visit so temperament and coat can be assessed before committing to a full groom, and the salon runs flea-free, asking for home flea treatment beforehand. Styling ranges from a tidy teddy or bolero trim through to lion trims and creative work for cats that need or want more.
