The Dog Groomer Shellharbour

The Dog Groomer is a one-person, appointment-only grooming studio run by Kylie from 37 Byron Circuit in Flinders, on the Shellharbour side of the Illawarra. It works to a single, deliberate idea: a calm, gentle, personal session where one groomer handles a dog from start to finish.

The practical heart of the service is one-on-one care. The same groomer stays with each dog for the whole visit, which suits small to medium breeds and, in particular, dogs that find grooming stressful. Kylie has been grooming professionally since 2002, and that experience shows in the unhurried, patient approach she describes for nervous and anxious dogs. A hydro bath system handles the wash, and the work ranges from a simple bath and blow dry through hygiene tidies to full style clips, with the teddy bear trim called out as the most popular finish. Cavoodles, spoodles and cocker spaniels each have their own place on the price list.

The studio serves Flinders, Shellharbour, Shell Cove, Albion Park, Barrack Heights, Kiama and the surrounding suburbs, roughly twelve minutes from Kiama and twenty from Wollongong. It is a small, personal operation built around treating each dog with the patience its owner would.
