W.A. Dog Grooming Academy

W.A. Dog Grooming Academy is a cage-free grooming salon and training academy on Gillam Drive in Kelmscott, in the City of Armadale south-east of Perth. It pairs a working dog grooming salon with a teaching academy, so day-to-day grooming runs alongside courses that range from the basics of grooming your own pet through to an internationally recognised diploma in professional dog grooming.

The salon is run as a cage-free space, with dogs kept out of crates and handled in a calm, unhurried way rather than left to wait. Grooming covers everything from a standard wash and dry to full breed clips and an Asian Fusion style clip, with de-shedding packages, nail clipping and a dedicated puppy program. Founder Christine Leighton-Smith and salon manager Tracy Fitzgerald bring around thirty years of combined grooming and training experience, and the team is set up to take all breeds and sizes, from young puppies through to elderly dogs and rescues, including anxious and reactive animals. The facility includes a Nano Ozone Spa and hydrobath, temperature-controlled washing stations and hands-free wall-mounted dryers.
